You will play a key role in managing a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, providing expert advice on personal tax matters, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, providing tailored personal tax advice.
- Oversee the preparation and review of personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax legislation.
- Advise clients on complex personal tax matters, including inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax planning.
- Liaise directly with clients to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Manage a small team, providing mentoring and support to junior staff.
- Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to clients.
- Assist with tax planning, structuring, and implementation for individuals, trusts, and estates.
- Prepare and review HMRC correspondence, including responses to enquiries and disputes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the wider team.
- Collaborate with partners and senior staff on strategic tax issues.
- Manage client billing and work-in-progress (WIP).
- Assist in business development efforts to grow the firm’s personal tax practice.
About You
- ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent qualification (or relevant experience).
- Significant experience in personal tax, ideally in an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax legislation and planning.
- Experience managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including high-net-worth individuals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear, client-friendly manner.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop junior staff.
- High attention to detail and ability to deliver work to a high standard.
- Proficient in tax software (e.g., ProTax, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
