Job Description

“Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness.” James Thurber.

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Senior Employment Tax Manager to join a growing, dynamic tax team. This role can be based either in our client's modern Birmingham office, where you will play a key role in shaping the success of the location, or in their well-established and fast-growing Bristol office.

You will have the opportunity to work with a broad and diverse client base, ranging from entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses to larger corporate groups. The role offers exposure to a variety of complex and rewarding tax advisory projects, with a particular focus on employment tax matters.

In addition to technical work, this is a leadership role suited to someone who enjoys mentoring and developing junior team members. You will also be encouraged to contribute to business development initiatives and play an active part in growing the firm’s employment tax offering.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Employment Tax Manager:
  • Leading on a wide range of Employment Tax advisory projects, including advice on benefits, reward packages, international employment matters, National Minimum Wage (NMW) issues, and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) enquiries.
  • Supporting businesses with employment tax issues in relation to acquisitions, disposals, and due diligence reviews.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Actively contributing to business development efforts locally and across the wider firm.
  • Playing an influential role in shaping the firm's employment tax strategy and service offering.

To be considered for the role of Senior Employment Tax Manager, we are looking for candidates who:
  • Are appropriately qualified, with significant experience within employment tax, either in practice or in-house.
  • Have experience advising on international employment matters (desirable but not essential).
  • Are excellent communicators who can build strong, trusted relationships with clients.
  • Enjoy developing people and have proven leadership and coaching abilities.

What's on Offer:
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays and office closure over Christmas.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • Regular social events, supported by active social committees.
  • A supportive, collaborative working culture with genuine opportunities for professional development and progression.

If you are an experienced employment tax specialist looking for your next challenge within a growing, forward-thinking firm, we would love to hear from you. Please click on “apply” as soon as possible.

You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
