You will advise on complex trust structures, inheritance tax planning, and succession strategies, providing tailored solutions for high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees. Key responsibilities of the Senior Manager / Director – Trust Tax include:
- Ensuring compliance with legislative and ethical standards within the Trust team.
- Resolving client issues efficiently, meeting agreed timescales and budgets.
- Leading, developing, and mentoring a team of advisors.
- Liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, individuals, and intermediaries to provide top-tier service.
- Acting as principal on a portfolio of trust and high-net-worth clients, reviewing and signing off advice.
- Reviewing and advising on trust accounts.
- Playing an active role in marketing and business development for trust services.
- Supporting team growth and the expansion of the trust business.
- Upskilling colleagues in other departments to manage risk and identify opportunities.
- Meeting with clients to assess and advise on tax planning, overseeing delivery by team members.
- Working with Private Client tax partners to identify key opportunities and risks.
- Promoting firm-wide services, including financial planning.
- Allocating work effectively to ensure departmental targets are met.
- Assisting in the running of the trust corporation.
The successful Senior Manager / Director – Trust Tax will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a UK accountancy practice.
- ATT or CTA qualification (or equivalent) with up-to-date technical knowledge; STEP qualification desirable.
- Proven ability to lead a team and inspire them to become highly effective advisors.
- Highly motivated with excellent client-facing skills, able to engage with high-net-worth clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- A creative approach to problem-solving and a strong desire to succeed.
